Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) 2017
Accountability for SDG4 and Citizen Participation
Stand up for Education: Time to Deliver

Every year Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) is observed across the world focusing on a single theme picked up from the education related issues. This year GAWE is going to be observed with the slogan Stand up for Education: Time to Deliver focusing on the theme Accountability for SDG4 and citizen participation.

As part of this, CAMPE organized a Planning Meeting on “GAWE 2017” with its partner organizations and teacher associations in Bangladesh. More than 40 representatives from both national and subnational level participated in the meeting held in CAMPE on 18 April 2017.

To mark the week a series of events/programs focusing on the theme were decided to be organized at the national and sub-national levels. Those included, among others, a national sharing event, rallies, discussion meetings/round tables and submission of memorandum to the concerned authorities at subnational/grassroots level. This campaign is expected to cover the whole country including special programs in 39 districts by selected partner organizations of CAMPE and Teacher Associations. Thousands of people including government officials, public representatives, educators, researchers, NGO representatives, students, guardians, teachers, School Managing Committee members, representatives of other civil society groups and media are expected to participate in the week-long programs and raise their voices for ensuring accountability for SDG4 and citizen participation.
