We are happy to announce that the total number of
people participating in the glorious World's Biggest
Lesson throughout Bangladesh, as so far reported to
CAMPE GAW Control Room, is 2.8 million. We are
yet to receive reports from organizations in some parts
of the country and assume that the total participation
will increase by a significant more number.
People from all walks of life participated in the
Biggest Lesson, along with leaders, local elites and
public functionaries who vowed fresh commitments towards
establishing everyone's right to quality basic education
and creating an enabling environment as well. The GAW
observing partners including number of unconventional
organizations and professional bodies like members of
law enforcing agencies, fisher folks in the coastal
belt, indigenous people, domestic child workers,
organizations working with visually challenged people as
well as people from disadvantaged groups who are
downtrodden among the downtrodden organized the event in
their vicinity and reported by fax, e-mail and
cell-phone messages of which validations signed by local
elites followed.

The Biggest Lesson held at places (at least 25000
places) with due fervor and festivity inducing to the
participants the theme of GAW 2008—no one will be missed
out from quality education and contributing momentum to
the overall education campaign in the country, whereas
the photographs and video footage sent by the
organizations represent further evidence of the historic
event.
CAMPE, on behalf of the participating organizations,
published in two largely circulated national dailies,
namely the Daily Protham Alo and the Daily Star, wake up
calls (public appeals) requesting people of all walks to
be part of the new prospective world record. Bangladesh
Television (BTV) including all private TV channels of
the country covered the event in their primetime news
with more importance.
