Bangladesh roars louder!
(16-18 October 2009)

More than 65 million people joined the various SUTA programs including rally, human chain, discussion, cultural programs, indigenous games, school mobilization, essay and art competition at different places like office, training centre and were organized by APPG+PET, PFM, Daridra Birodhi Moncho (DBM) and individual organizations, groups, institutions. This is a significant milestone for Bangladesh and will remain in history since the political leader including Prime Minister of Bangladesh for the first reinforced her commitment to make poverty history.

Members from the civil society, officials from local government, trade union leaders and elected community representatives reiterated their commitment to Take Action against Climate Injustice, Poverty and Inequality. The people also urged that the Government of Bangladesh as a signatory to the UN Millennium declaration must take its responsibility seriously and come up with realistic and concrete strategies to ensure that a positive change in the quality of life of the general mass is brought about by 2015.
