PFM, Bangladesh kicks off SUTA 2009 with Press Briefing
(14 October, 2009)


 


In view of the forthcoming International Poverty Eradication Day being observed globally from Oct 16-18, 2009 PFM presented its event plan and Memorandum with media at a Press Briefing held today at the National Press Club. Tasneem Athar, PFM Focal Point in her welcome remarks informed the press about its campaign activities across Bangladesh in the form of Student mobilization, Farmer’s gathering Courtyard Meetings, rally, seminars, open air theatres etc. Explaining the objective of this press briefing she pointed out that the media has been playing a laudable role in projecting various reports on the progress of MDGs and thereby it is crucial that they know PFM’s position on various issues that need to be addressed if the MDGs are to be achieved by 2015. Mr Ataur Rahman presented the PFM Memorandum to be handed over to the Hon’ble Prime Minister while G R Hiru, Co Convener PFM, Nilofer Banu, Co convener PFM, Shamsunnahar Aziz Lina responded to the various queries of the press. Correspondents from major Dailies and TV Channels were present at the briefing.
