Like all other years CAMPE also observed the World Environment Day on 5th of June, 2008. The theme for this year is "Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy". The 2 day long (5-6 June, 2008) programme was organized by the Ministry of Environment & Forest (MoEF) on behalf the Government of Bangladesh. The programme included Rally, Seminars and Environment Fair. Hundreds of people from Government Offices, NGOs, Schools, Colleges, Universities and Environmentalists joined the colourful rally. The 2 day-long Environment Fair was inaugurated by Raja Debasish Roy, Hon’ble Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, Ministry of Environment & Forest at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium. A stall was also run by CAMPE for disseminating the environment related publications of CAMPE and its partners. Raja Debasish Roy visited the CAMPE stall and appreciated the initiatives of CAMPE for awareness raising on different environmental issues.
