“For employment see the ability not the disability”

With the objectives to create job opportunities for persons with disabilities and to sensitize employers about disability inclusive employment, a job fair was jointly organized by CAMPE, BBDN (Bangladesh Business & Disability Network) and Access Bangladesh Foundation on 9 December 2017. It was held at the Apparel Club, 14th & 15th Floor of the BGMEA Complex.

A job placement seminar was also organize along with this job fair. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Principal Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals Affairs, Prime Minister’s Office was present at the opening ceremony of the fair as the Chief Guest.

Afroza Khan, Secretary in Charge, Ministry of Labor & Employment, ABM Khorshed Alam, Additional Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, NSDC Secretariat, Mr Tapon Kumar Das, Deputy Director, CAMPE, Md. Siddiqur Rahman, President, BGMEA, Kamran T. Rahman, President, BEF and Kishore Kumar Singh, Chief Technical Advisor, ILO, B-SEP Project were also present as Special Guests on this occasion.

Salahuddin Kasem Khan, the immediate-past president of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation chaired the session. A total of 20 employers participated including Grameen Phone, Square Pharmaceutical, ACI Limited, Urmi Group and Akhter Furniture. 80 people were offered with job opportunities on the spot. It is expected that 300 more employment opportunities will be ensured through this job fair.
